Goat Simulator has no goals or real missions to accomplish. Then I wanted to make some kind of storage dedicated to the UFO so I made my own version of the existing inventory ^^ That was almost working perfectly, but for some reasons I could not manage to make the inventory list display correctly :/ So for now I only binded the inventory key to "drop one item".You can bleat as loud as you want to scare others, ram against objects and humans, break into people's homes, and destroy cars, fences, or basically whatever's in front of you.The horns are your weapon, but you can also use the goat’s tongue to lick anything or bite objects and living things to drag them with you. Sadly the collision detection was not at all working as expected and the only collisions I could detect was with pointless items that are not affected by gravity >_< So after trying a few more ideas, I ended up doing it with some math: I get all the objects in a big sphere under the UFO and I compute their distance to the center of the UFO beam to know if they are in it or no. When the movements were working fine, I started to add some animations that I found in the game files (opening/closing the UFO hold), sadly those animations do not have the same speed and I didn't find a way to give them a custom speed so the rotation of the center of the UFO can look weird sometimes X)Īfter that I started to work on the light beam, that part was harder than expected as I could not achieve it with collision mechanisms :/ The first idea I had was to create a very high invisible cylinder and detect what collide with this cylinder. So what I did was to simply "freeze" it in the air as long as the player don't try to move it :p And when a movement is required, I add some forces to the vehicle to force it to go in the correct direction ^^ Basically I was trying to use the PHYS_Flying physics on a vehicle to make it fly, but that was not working at all X)Īnyway after messing up with vehicled in the Nitro Engine, I started to imagine another way to make the UFO "fly". If your game lag a lot the light beam may fail to pull you up to the UFO, slowmotion should fix it. Sometimes the beam can fail to add items to the hold / players to the seats. The UFO is uncontrollable if someone is walking on it. The UFO controls are not really precise and may not go exactly where you want. The UFO collision box is crappy and do not match its shape correctly. The UFO hold may contain unexpected items. The UFO is static as long as the driver is using no movement key. You can't add a player character to the UFO when nobody is controlling him. Only items compatible with the inventory can enter the UFO hold (so vehicles can't enter). If a player reach the top of a light beam, it will automatically enter the UFO. If an object reach the top of a light beam, it will be added to the UFO hold. When driven, the light beam attract every object affected by gravity. When nobody is driving a UFO, its light beam will only attract the UFO owner. The first player to enter will be the driver, the others will be passengers. Any player can enter a UFO if he is close enough to it and not ragdolled.
